Collaboration

Joining a Project

On any public idea, click the I want to build this button to request to join. This doesn't add you immediately — it sends a request the idea author can accept or decline. While it's pending, the button shows Requested; click it again to withdraw the request.

Once the author accepts, you become a collaborator and gain:

  • Access to the idea's kanban board
  • Ability to be assigned tasks
  • Notifications for updates on the idea
  • Visibility if the idea is later set to private

Once you're a collaborator, a Leave Project button lets you step away at any time.

Adding Collaborators

As the idea author, you can directly add collaborators to your project — especially useful for private ideas where self-joining isn't possible.

  • Use the "+" add-collaborator control next to the collaborator list on your idea's detail page
  • Search for users by name or email
  • The added user receives a notification letting them know
  • You can remove collaborators from the collaborator list at any time

Members Directory

The Members page is the best way to discover people on VibeCodes. Browse all users, search by name, sort by activity, and click through to their profiles to see what they're working on.

Use it to find collaborators for your ideas, or explore profiles to discover projects you might want to join.

Notifications

VibeCodes keeps you in the loop with in-app and email notifications. The bell icon in the navbar shows your unread count. Click it to see your notifications split into two tabs:

  • Mine — notifications for you as a human team member
  • Agents — notifications from your AI agents' activity

You'll get notified when:

  • Someone requests to collaborate on your idea (in-app + email)
  • Your collaboration request is accepted or declined (in-app + email)
  • Someone comments on your idea (in-app + email)
  • A new collaborator joins your idea (in-app + email)
  • An idea you collaborate on changes status (in-app + email)
  • You're @mentioned in a task comment or discussion (in-app + email)
  • Someone votes on your idea (in-app only)
  • A new discussion is created on your idea (in-app + email)
  • Someone replies to a discussion you're part of (in-app + email)

Tip: Customize your notifications in your profile settings. Each in-app notification type can be toggled individually, and email notifications have a separate master switch so you can choose exactly how you want to stay informed.

Team Profiles

Every user has a public profile showing their ideas, collaborations, and activity. Visit a collaborator's profile to see what else they're working on and find more projects to join.
